This character will likely be added in pieces due to time constraints.
Edit: Text in green is text which has been added or edited for your reading pleasure.
Name: Rayne.
Race: Human.
Age: 25.
Gender: Male.
Appearance: What is not included in this picture is his supply bag, also known as his "backpack" where he has extra supplies. His supply bag is light brown, and has several pockets on the sides and on the back. It's meant to hold as much as possible, thus the name "supply bag."
Equipment: Rusted Machete for close encounters, still extremely sharp despite the thick rust. Steel bow and arrows are his primary weapon, and it's almost blatant that he favors them as his bow shines and his Machete remains rust-covered. His quiver is large and can hold about 80-100 arrows. Even if Marcus runs out of arrows, he has several more arrowheads located in one of his supply bag's pockets with which he can make arrows. Carving knife located on his belt as a last resort weapon, and to help make arrows.
Dark brown, hardened leather padding which can be located on his left shoulder, the back of his right hand, and one gauntlet going from his left hand to his left elbow, and his two boots that end just below his knees. Useful for protecting against small weapons, but if someone were to charge at him with a two handed axe it would likely just cleave through it as if it was just more air to go through.
Something to remember. I actually Roleplayed Rayne's history. Not the childhood part of course, but when he was fourteen and onwards I Roleplayed that elsewhere. In fact I'd estimate this character to be about seven months old. So enjoy reading the past of this character, because his future still seems murky and unknown.
History: Rayne is a typical Ranger with the typical things on a Ranger's mind. No wait, he's not even really a Ranger, he just likes to call himself one to help people get used to the idea that he works for money. Sure he'll help people out, but only if it looks like he'll actually gain something from it! Okay that's not quite true either, he's really nice at heart though he likes to hide this fact. After all, he has the whole "Ranger" look to uphold and if people think he is some sort of Robin Hood then what the hell kind of Ranger would he be?
The poor kind that's what.
Rayne was born in a small village in some forest with some parents which he never really cared about. While they were religious fanatics, he was more of an outdoors kind of guy. Going out, camping for a couple of weeks and coming back to see the disappointed looks on his parent's faces was a thing that Rayne had gotten quite used to when he was a child. After all, he was supposed to be a priest.. Which at the time a priest to him was a bald guy wearing overly large robes and holding a book the size of his chest. Of course, most priests don't look like this but that was the stereotype that both his father and Rayne held onto. Dearly.
It wasn't until about the age of fourteen that Rayne realized just what kind of brain wash ceremony most Religious cults had. Although, this one was different. Sometimes strange lights would be seen in the forest and spooky creatures were sometimes found dead overnight. Rayne, being the curious Ranger-wannabe that he was at the time, decided to explore the forest and stay out in the area where most of the sightings occurred. It only took two nights. On the second night of an unusually cold Autumn, Rayne met face to face with a thing that could only be described out of books meant to cause nightmares in children. That night, he met a hell hound.
This hell hound and Rayne fought against each other for several minutes, and when it finally seemed like Rayne was about to kill the creature it suddenly died without warning. Rayne didn't kill it, so what did? That was a question that plagued his mind for two years as he trained in the art of both the bow and the blade. His favorite was the bow though, as that night with the hell hound had quickly taught him the lesson of how painful pain really was.
Upon reaching the age of sixteen, Rayne took to the forest again. This time however he went to the source of the strange lights. It took him two weeks, and three battles with various creatures, but he finally reached the lights. They were pink and purple, it looked like some sort of Witchcraft ceremony. There were only about ten priests and priestesses there, and before Rayne could go in killing he froze up. For right there in the middle of them all, on top of a stone alter which was recently built, was his own two parents.
He walked out of the bushes and out into the open. He announced his threat and told them all to stop what they were doing, as it was summoning creatures that were harming everyone else. Of course, they didn't listen. In fact the youngest looking of them, a young girl, charged at Rayne with a silver knife. Having no other choice, Rayne killed her from about twenty feet away using his bow and arrows. The group gasped, and Rayne felt sick to his stomach. He had never even harmed another person before; leave alone killing a young girl!
The sun rose just above the trees to illuminate the sad sight. Rayne's own father banished him, and told him to never return. Even though Rayne was right, and he had accomplished his goal of stopping the priests and priestesses from summoning anything else, he was banished for "murdering" an "innocent" young girl. After that he wandered the land for a few years, gaining skills and making friends. There is even a story about some of Rayne's deeds both glorified and dark, but alas those deeds are meant for another time, and another story..
The last thing Rayne knew, he was entering the lands of Theramore. It would likely be an interesting adventure indeed, especially since he was treated with a rather icy welcome back up north with a kingdom that had a Queen in it. Oh well. Maybe he would be treated a little more warmly here.. Hopefully not with fire, however.
Side: Merc/Wanderer. (Nobody's specific side, although would likely work with good intentions over evil intentions.)
Personality: Neutral-Good. He won't be chivalrous about things, but he'll help a person in need if he thinks he can manage it.
Finished.
